Carmen Arrúe, Former Site Director (Retired December 2018)
Carmen was the Site Director for more than 20 years. Now she is enjoying her retirement. Originally from Cuba, Carmen grew up in the U.S., where she completed undergraduate and graduate degrees in anthropology from the University of Florida and The Catholic University of America, respectively. During her life, Carmen has crossed cultures many times. Serendipity brought her to Asturias over thirty years ago and to the very land where her grandfather was born. There she says she has finally found her “place” in the world.
