I love to doodle and draw. But alas, I lack the technical skills to do it well. One day, during the spring of 1998 and our first Oviedo program, one thing led to another and I spontaneously came up with what was to become the first “tropa caricature”: a humorous comic style drawing of the important people in my professional and personal life (no one is safe!). As well as capturing some thing characteristic or humorous about each student, the “tropa” caricatures also refer to special events that occurred during the term. In the years that followed there were many more, almost one per term with the exception of the summers.
